Observing lines and patterns
In art we have been looking at the artist Hundertwasser. We have been observing how he uses lines and patterns in his pictures and buildings. We designed our own houses in his style and painted them using water colours making artwork bright, bold and beautiful like Hundertwasser’s. After that we used our designs to make our house out of junk modelling. We paid particular attention to the shapes and patterns he used for the windows, doors and rooves.
We talked about the season Autumn and went on an Autumn walk to explore the colours and the different leaves we could see. We collected some leaves and created some Autumn art work.
We have been very busy in class 4 starting our new topic on 'ourselves'. We have been learning how we are all different, for example we like different things, we look different from each other and we have been celebrating these differences. Also in art we have been exploring the work of Pablo Picasso and his work on portraits. We have imitated his skills and have been observing our own and others faces to create our very own portraits using different media.
