At Whitefield Infant School and Nursery, we want our school uniform to be simple, affordable and accessible for all families.
We do not require branded uniform. All of our uniform can be purchased from supermarkets or other uniform retailers, and there is no expectation for clothing to display the school logo.
Children should wear:
Red jumper or cardigan – no logo required
White polo shirt
Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore
Grey tights or socks
Black school shoes
For PE, children should wear:
White T-shirt – no logo required
Black shorts, leggings or jogging bottoms
Black trainers
Black zip-up top for colder weather
Please note that PE clothing should be black rather than navy blue.
For the safety of all children, jewellery should not be worn in school. Jewellery can become caught or cause an injury, particularly during PE lessons and active playtimes.
Children may wear small stud earrings only. Hoops, drop earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings or other jewellery should not be worn.
Children should bring a suitable coat to school every day, appropriate for the weather. We make use of our outdoor areas throughout the year, so children need to be prepared for changing weather conditions.
Reception children should also have a pair of wellington boots in school for outdoor learning. Wellington boots are not required for children in Years 1 and 2.
Please clearly label all clothing, coats, shoes, PE kit and other belongings with your child's name.
With lots of children wearing similar items, clearly named clothing makes it much easier for us to return lost belongings to the correct child.
We understand that the cost of school clothing can be difficult for families. We have a pre-loved uniform rail in our school entrance, with good-quality uniform available free of charge.
If your family needs any items, please help yourself. There is no need to ask or make an appointment.
We are committed to keeping our uniform affordable and ensuring that no child or family feels under pressure to purchase expensive or branded clothing.
