Children's Page

Scroll down the page to see what the children have been up to during our school closure. Hopefully we can share ideas for activities and inspire each other. If any of you have any photographs or messages, please send them to a.ward@whitefield-inf.lancs.sch.uk and I will post them on here.

Idris has been working very hard and mum has sent in some pictures of him doing his maths worksheets from his home learning pack. He has also shown a super commitment to reading every day, which is so important and will really benefit him when we get back to school.

Great job, Idris! Keep it up smiley

Zakariyya AJ has been getting up close to some amazing animals using Google's 3D Augmented Reality (AR) software and mum has shared some of the animals he's encountered. Google's AR feature is very impressive and provides a fun new way for children to learn about their favourite animals. Animals were part of our science topic before the closure so it is great to see that Zakariyya has been doing this research. I just wish that my phone wasn't ancient as you need an operating system of 7.0 or later on Android devices and iOS 11.0 or later on Apple devices. If your device supports Google AR then just type in the name of an animal and there should be a new 'View in 3D' button underneath the image search results. Please share any pictures if you guys are able to do this!

Zakariyya has also been very busy doing his home learning packs and mum says that he's been very helpful at home by doing his chores and watering the plants.

Amazing work, Zakariyya! smiley

Azaan has been busy doing lots of work at home. Mum says he has been practising his maths and writing and has shared some photos. He has also been playing lots of games on Purple Mash and Numbots. My daughters also enjoy playing Numbots as well as Times Tables Rock Stars and these games will help you keep your maths skills sharp for when we return to school. I have tried TTRS myself and found out that I need to practise my 9 and 12 times tables a lot more!

Super work, Azaan! smiley

We miss you too, girls.
