We have been looking at two heroines of the Second World War. Muriel Dyson lived in Nelson but, unfortunately, she died during a bombing raid when she was a nurse in the WRAF. Noor Inayat Khan was a young, Muslim lady who worked as a spy in France. She was killed by the German army. We remembered their bravery and the bravery of others, who have helped make our world a safer place.

The children at Whitefield have been making friends with other children in schools in Nelson and Colne.
Class 7 are part of an exciting project and they have made friends (on line) with lots of children in schools around Europe. At the moment they are learning to say please, thank you, sorry, excuse me and hello, in many different languages.
