This half term we will be using Lost and Found as our key literacy text. We had a HUGE knock at our door and look what was waiting for us. He is lost! We are going to try and help him find his way back home.
We have done some amazing writing this half term! We have re told the story of Lost and Found remembering our capital letters, full stops and finger spaces.
We are learning about our local area. We went on a local geography walk to look out for the human features around our school environment. Look what we saw.
We have been using our forest school to create self-portraits using natural materials. We had to make sure we had all the features, eyes, nose, eyebrows, mouth, ears and hair. Some of us even found some berries to make earrings for our ears.
Our e-safety rules.
As a class we discussed how to keep safe online. We worked together to discuss some different situations and what we would do. We came up with these rules to keep us safe when on the computer.
In science we have been learning about our senses. We have been exploring our sense of taste by trying different foods and discussing how they taste. We tried different foods and closed our eyes so we could taste them. We tasted foods that were 'bitter, sour, sweet and salty'.
Are we all the same?
As part of our science learning we asked the question are we all the same? The children completed an experiment. First we saw if we could all jump the same distance. They measured their height, hand span and foot length.
In the last week we took advantage of the beautiful weather and went on a local walk to Victoria Park. The children had the most amazing time exploring the park and searching for the signs of autumn. The children found hundreds of conkers and we used them to make a piece of art work using natural materials.
