Me and My World
This half term in Class 3, we are learning all about 'Me and My World'. We are going to be doing lots of super learning all about ourselves, our families and what makes us who we are!
Our core text is 'Shark in the Park!'

First day fun!!!
We had an amazing first day in Reception and had lots of fun exploring all the new areas in our classroom!!!
Making our mark . . .
The children have been exploring and experimenting with mark making. We have been writing and forming out pre-writing patterns. We have also started to learn new graphemes (letters) and phonemes (sounds).
Alma Thomas scribbles and squiggles . . .
In our first and second week of school, we have been using Alma Thomas' artwork for inspiration within our own artwork. The children have created a beautiful mark-making display called 'scribbles and squiggles', inspired by Alma Thoma's work. It shows off their amazing fine motor skills and beautiful patterns that they have created.
PE Fun!!!
Class 3 also enjoyed their first PE lesson in week 2. They did an amazing job and had lots of fun!!!
All about Me . . .
The children loved exploring our topic sessions 'all about me'. They created amazing self-portraits using the mirrors to help them! We have displayed their wonderful learning on 'Our Class 3 Family' display.
Our families . . .
We also had so much fun looking at our family pictures and sharing and discussing special people to us. The children have created an amazing display all about our families.
Literacy:
In our Literacy learning, we have been recognising and writing new phonemes. The children have been forming the letters and having a go at writing CVC words, which is amazing. We have been using phoneme frames to help us!!!
Maths:
In our Maths learning, we have been learning about numbers to 5. We have been recognising and forming the numbers 1,2,3,4,5 and then identifying the correct quality to match the numeral. We have even been exploring different numbers that add together to make the numbers, which is super tricky!!!
Outdoor:
We have also been super busy exploring our outdoor learning environment. We have had so much fun exploring the different areas!!!
