We have been exploring different materials and their properties. Steven Lewis Neill (a scientist) came into school to help us with an investigation. We used a selection of different materials to make a climbing frame for the mouse. We had to think carefully about which materials we were choosing and why. Many of our climbing frames were successful and the mice almost escaped their cage!
We have been learning about healthy lifestyles and the importance of eating the right food, exercise and hygiene for humans.
During P.E we took part in different athletic activities and thought about how our bodies changed during the lesson.
We learnt that our heart beats faster the harder we work, we needed lots of water to stay hydrated and our bodies started sweating to try and cool down.
Mr Dave also taught us that if we clench our fist it gives us a rough idea of the size of our heart. Mr Dave's heart is much bigger than ours because he is older and our smaller hearts beat more times per minute than his.
