The Great Fire of London

We began our topic by making a fire outside in our forest school. We used our senses to collect vocabulary to describe the fire. We did observational drawings of the fire.

We used the vocabulary collected to write our own descriptive poems about the fire. We read them aloud and performed them to our friends.

We used fabrics to create a sequence of movements to 'tell the story' of the great fire!

We researched and used our knowledge to write a non-chronological report about the Great Fire of London. Can you answer the questions below to share some facts with your family at home?

  • When did the fire start?
  • How did they fire start?
  • How long did the fire last?
  • Why did the fire spread so quickly?
  • How did they put the fire out?
