Week 1

Week 1

It has been lovely to welcome the children into our Bubble this week.  They have settled in so well and this has made me very proud.

I thought I'd share with your some of our learning and activities that the children have done this week.

The children have been recapping their Phase 3 phonic sounds.  They drew their own phoneme frame and segmented the word and wrote it in the spaces.

Just like your home learning tasks, the children have been reading the story Superworm by Julia Donaldson.  They wrote some excellent sentences using their phonics and remembering their finger spaces.  Well done children!

In Maths, the children have been learning how to count to 20 in twos.  They wanted to share their video of them counting.  I wonder if you could ask and adult to film you while you count in twos?

It was such a beautiful afternoon, that we decided to make some 'wormy' paintings.  We used different coloured paint and dipped string into it.  It was a little bit messy, but we had lots of fun.  Miss Whittaker managed to get green paint in her ear!

The children loved using the water equipment, that has been set up for our Bubble.  There was super teamwork lots of excellent sharing and plenty of laughing!

We all had a fantastic first week back.  Well done everyone!

Miss Whittaker xx
