Our Curriculum Intent- Phonics
At Whitefield school we embed phonics learning by teaching high quality, stimulating and active sessions in a systematic way following the Red Rose Letters and Sounds. All children develop a secure understanding of letters and sounds, enabling them to read with fluency and apply knowledge and skills to spell accurately within their writing across the curriculum.

Thank you to all parents who came to learn and observe all about how we teach phonics at Whitefield School following the 'Lancashire Red Rose' phonics scheme of learning. The children loved showing off their phonics skills!
