Take a look at our lovely learning environment!
We have all settled into nursery well, we have made new friends and have been enjoying exploring our new learning environment!
We have settled back in to Nursery after the half term and enjoyed further exploring in our learning environment. We are developing our friendships and becoming more confident learners.
We have been getting ready for Christmas and have begun by making some mince pies! We rolled out the pastry and used a pastry cutter to cut it to size. Then filled it with mice filling and baked them. The children had lots of fun and they tasted delicious.
We have had a snow machine in Nursery this week. The children were so excited and had lots of fun trying to catch the snow.
Today was our Christmas 'sing a long' in Nursery. We sang some popular Christmas songs to an audience of our parents and carers. We are so proud of our children in Nursery. Well done!
We have come back after Christmas eager to learn our next topic of Winter. The children have been working with an artist to create some fantastic art work. We had lots of fun making our creations!
We have started our new topic of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. The children have had a picnic and tasted porridge with different toppings. We have retold the story using different voices to represent the different characters and have been learning all about the language small, medium and big.
The afternoon children have taken part in Forest School this half term. They have been doing lots of fantastic outdoor learning with Mr Howarth. We have been on a Winter word hunt, made bird feeders, used a handheld drill and hammers to make our own bird table and lit a fire to keep ourselves warm. We have learnt lots of new vocabulary and skills and had lots of fun outside!
We have been making the most of the sunny weather in Nursery and have been embracing our outdoor area. We have been washing cars, making perfume, chopping vegetables in the mud kitchen and measuring pom poms in different measuring containers.
The children in Nursery had a very exciting visit from WellyBobs Farm! The children loved looking at and stroking the animals!
Our text in Summer 1 has been The Very Hungry Caterpillar. We have learnt all about the life cycle of a butterfly and the children have loved this topic. We have had our own class caterpillars, have watched them grow, build cocoons and turn in to butterflies! It was wonderful to watch!
