This term the children are learning all about different festivals and celebrations. The children have learnt about Bonfire night, Diwali, birthdays, weddings and also Christmas.

In Literacy, we have been looking at the key texts 'Chapatti Moon' by Pippa Goodhart and 'The best Birthday Present Ever' by Ben Mantle. The children have continued to use their phonic knowledge to write simple sentences and also practised forming their letters correctly. We have been using our phonic fingers to help us sound out and write simple CVC words.

Diwali- Festival of Light

This term we have been learning all about different celebrations. We have been 

discussing the similarities and differences between Eid and Diwali. Diwali is the 'Festival of 

Light' and we have learned about the story of Rama and Sita.

Phonics Workshop

We really enjoyed having our parents in Class 2 to showcase how we learn about phonics, 

phonemes, digraphs and graphemes. We played lots of fun games with our parents and learned

lots of new sounds.

Go Velo- Bike Riding

We had a special visit from Go Velo who taught us how to ride a bike.

First we practised on a balance bike and then we had a go at riding a bike with pedals.

It was so much fun!

Church Visit

We had a lovely time visiting the church. We listened t the Christmas story. We also had a look around the Church and we saw lots of exciting things including a beautiful Christmas tree!

Singing

We had a lot of fun singing songs with Mrs Brunton and using different instruments to practice our rhythm.
