Man on the Moon

Our key text this half term 'Man on the Moon' by Simon Bartram. Can you answer these questions with an adult at home:

Who is the main character in the text?

Where does he live?

What is his job?

What responsibilities does he have?

What is your favourite part of the text?

Did you enjoy the story? Why?

In Geography this half term we have identified the continents of our world. We have been comparing Nelson, England to a non-European country. We chose Singapore because Miss Jackson has travelled there so she was able to teach us all about it. We used computers to research the area further and make comparisons to where we live.

In Science we have been learning all about plants and growth. We planted our own sunflower seeds and kept a diary to track their growth each week. We then carried out an experiment to find out what a plant needs to survive.

In Computing with Mrs Leighton we learnt about how to give and follow clear instructions, by writing and following instructions to make some cakes. We then used our knowledge of this to think about how we give computers instructions and how they follow those instructions.
