Our focus story for this half term was Supertato by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet.
One morning we came inside after playtime and couldn't believe our eyes! Someone had been causing absolute havoc in our classroom. Chairs had been turned over, bags were on the floor and someone had even drawn on the tables!
After reading our Supertato story, many of us believe that the Evil Pea may have been responsible.
Maths
In Maths we have been building on the mathematical skills we learnt during last half term with a particular focus on looking at how many tens and ones are in a number, exploring addition and subtraction and developing our understanding of mathematical language related to time.
Design and Technology
In DT we have worked with a friend to design, make and evaluate a parachute for Supertato. We carefully considered which materials and tools would be best to use to make our parachute fall gently and safely.
Science
In Science we have identified and named a variety of common animals that are birds, fish, amphibians, reptiles and mammals.
and investigated their poo to discover whether they are carnivores, herbivores or omnivores!
History
For our history topic we have been learning all about the famous nurses Florence Nightingale and Mary Seacole and why they are significant historical figures.
RE
We have been learning about the significance of the Nativity Story to Christians and how Christmas is celebrated around the world.
