A Picture Tells a Thousand Words
This half term each class has been given a piece of artwork and a piece of music to inspire our learning. Our painting is called 'A Sunday afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte' by George Seurat. Class 6 thought this picture reminded them of summer and going for days out.
The children have been sketching things they love from nature. We talked about things that we might see if we went exploring in the great outdoors. The children also sketched some landscapes that they might find in the countryside.
We used our painting by George Seurat to inspire some drama. We made freeze frames to show the different characters from the painting and we also thought about what the people might be saying.
