It's up to us!

Our whole school summer project this year is called 'IT'S UP TO US!'

Each class received a protest plaque all about how WE can make a difference to our world and make it a better place! In Class 7 we are exploring how we can reduce, reuse and recycle our waste.
Our core texts this half term will be Dear Earth, If I were the world and What a waste!

In art we will be reusing recycled materials to create different pieces of artwork. We will use tinfoil and metal wire to make sculptures so we began by sketching the animal or things we wanted to make.

We used tinfoil to create our sculptures. We changed the shape of the tinfoil by squeezing, twisting, rolling, bending and pulling. We thought carefully about how to create the shape of our animal or plant. We also used wire to create sculptures.

We also created pencil cases out of old clothing and printed a design onto them. We used the IPads to search for images for our printing design. Then we sketched our ideas before creating a printing block.  Once we had made a printing block we printed onto the fabric. Finally we sewed the edges and added buttons.

In P.E we have been improving our skills in striking and fielding. We have been practising, throwing, catching and rolling the ball with accuracy.

We visited our friends at Sacred Heart as part of Building Bridges. We had lots of fun taking part in sports games and team building activities.
