It's up to us!

Our whole school summer project this year is called 'IT'S UP TO US!'

Each class received a protest plaque all about how WE can make a difference to our world and make it a better place! In Class 6 we are looking at the conservation of rural areas and how we can help protect and preserve the natural environment ensuring its healthy for future generations!

Our core text this term is ...

We have been exploring and comparing 'rural' and 'urban' areas! We have been collecting language, creating mind maps and even wrote our own poems using what we had learnt.

This half term we will be focusing on the artist 'David Hockney', in particular his work on natural landscapes. We imitated his style and created our own rural artwork adding colour using water colours and oil pastels.

We have been retelling the story of 'Erroll's Garden'. We created a story plan first, added talk for write actions and then retold it using all the language, punctuation and skills we have learnt over the year.

We have been gardening and looking after our school grounds and making a beautiful outdoor space just like in the 'Erroll's Garden' story. We weeded and planted new seeds and flowers to brighten up the planter and attract wildlife. We will continue to care for our mini garden and watch the flowers grow. See if you can spot it in the playground!
