A glimpse of our classroom this half term ...
In year 1 we have got some new exciting DT tools called ‘Make do’. We have been exploring using the safe tools. Keep your eyes peeled for our wonderful creations!
In forest school this week we have been celebrating bonfire night on the 5th November we collected wood for our own fire and then roasted marshmallows !
We have been exploring fractions in maths! In particular halves and quarters. Test us at home to see if we can find half or quarter of an amount or object.
We have been learning the genre ‘rap’ in music
Today we had a special visit from Mr Dylan the Reptile expert who shared his amazing animals with us. We were able to stroke them, watch them eat, HOLD THEM (if we were feeling brave) and we learnt so much about each one. This will link into our fabulous science learning all about sorting and classifying animals this term.
This week we have been learning all about Tortoises to write a non-fiction report.
We had a special visitor this week! Meet our new friend Tango the tortoise!
