Planting our Beanstalk

After reading the story Jack and the beanstalk, the children planted their own beanstalk. We discussed what we would need to help grow a beanstalk and how we would look after it. I wonder if they will reach the giants castle?

Look at what we found!

What an exciting and fun week it has been! Class 3 started off week 2 exploring the pond area in KS1 Forest school. The children used magnifying glasses to see what the could find in the pond. We found some frogspawn and lots of tiny tadpoles swimming inside the water. When we went back to class, we discussed the life cycle of a frog. The children also enjoyed drawing their own frogspawn and tadpoles.

Steve the Scientist!

We had a very exciting visit from Steven the Scientist and he taught us all about minibeasts! The children were very brave and had a go at holding and touching some of the creatures Steven bought in to show us, even the creepy crawly spider! Steven even taught us about minibeasts that might live in our forest school. We had so much fun looking at all the different creatures.

Enjoying the sunshine!

We have been enjoying the sunny weather and have been doing lots of learning outdoors. The children in class 3 really enjoyed splashing in the water and soaking their feet to stay cool in the sunny weather. We had so much fun!
