This half term in Class 3 we are learning all about Spring and Growth. We are going to be learning lots about the growth of plants and the growth of animals and different creatures. 

Our core texts are: Sam Plants a Sunflower and Jack and the Beanstalk.

The phonemes/ digraphs/ trigraphs that we will be learning this half term are:

Planting our Sunflowers...

This week we have started our new core text 'Sam Plants a Sunflower' in Literacy. We loved how beautiful Sam's sunflower was so we wanted to grow our own!! We talked about what we needed to do and use to make our sunflowers grow. All of the children planted their own sunflower seed in their pot and water it.

I wonder how tall they will get!!!

Exploring the pond...

We have had a very busy and exciting second week in Class 3! We started the week off by going into the KS1 forest school to explore and see if we could find any tadpoles in the pond. We have been learning all about the life cycle of a frog so we wanted to see if we could spot any frog spawn or tadpoles! The children looked very closely and used their magnifying glasses to explore and found some tadpoles! We carefully used the nets to collect the tadpoles and we are now looking after them in our class, we can't wait to see them change to froglets and then frogs!

A visit from a scientist!!

We then had a very exciting visit from Steven the Scientist and he taught us all about insects!! Steven taught us about insects that might live in our forest school and he also brought lots of amazing insects with him to show us, some of the children were even brave enough to touch them!

Sports Day Fun!!!

We had lots of fun at our Sports Day! The children took part in lots of different sports activities and tried so hard! They also loved watching the Mummy's and Daddy's getting up and having a go!

David Attenborough Day...

We had such a fabulous day for David Attenborough's 100th birthday! We did lots of super learning all about our world and why it is so important to protect it like David has done throughout his lifetime. We did lots of amazing art work, had a lovely session in forest school and had a picnic together. We had a fun-packed day!
