This half term we have our new summer project 'Every Hat Tells A Story'. We choose a space helmet for our hat so we will be doing lots of super learning all about space! We are going to be learning lots about space, astronauts, galaxies, stars, planets and much, much more! 

Our core texts are: Living in space, Neil Armstrong and the Moon Landings and Whatever Next. 

In Phonics this half term, we will be consolidating the phonemes, digraphs, trigraphs and tricky words that we have learnt throughout Reception.

Space and Galaxies...

This week, we have been learning all about space and what is in space! We learnt about our solar system and what planets are in the solar system. The children learnt the names of all of the planets and some interesting facts about them. We then created our own planets, large scale space scene and galaxy inspired pictures.

Stars and their Constellations...

This week, we have been exploring stars. We learnt about different stars and different star constellations. The children learnt which star constellation is theirs and then created star constellation art work. We made stars, used cotton bugs to make the constellations and did some threading.
